After a cool and rainy spring, hints of warmer weather tease that summer might actually arrive. To welcome the season, my Decocrated Summertime Box 2022 landed on my front porch, ready to inspire fresh vignettes.
Check out how I used the cute new pieces in my home.
Decocrated Summertime Box 2022
If you are new to Decocrated Curated Home, check out my initial review HERE. This subscription box company specializes in curating home decor that mixes beautifully with what you already own and use. The boxes arrive to your front door four times a year, in time for each new season.

The Summer 2022 Box features light wood finishes and a color palette of yellows and blues. This seasonal box contains six pieces that work well with items from previous boxes.
I enjoyed shifting from spring to summer, with a few minor changes.
Decocrated Summertime Box 2022 – freshening vignettes for summer
Table Top Vignette
Half of the new summer pieces ended up on the dining room table, blending beautifully with pieces from the spring box.
Forming the foundation for the vignette are the neutral fabric runner from the Spring 2022 box plus the wooden table runner from last year’s spring box.
The versatile wooden pedestal with the wire cage is separated for this vignette. The wire cage serves as a cloche for the new faux plant in a ceramic pot. Even those who don’t have a green thumb can enjoy this plant! It never needs watering.
Clipped into the frame from the Spring 2021 Box is the double sided art card for this spring. I love the “My Happy Place” saying on this side. The flip side offers a botanical print with oranges.
Also new to the 2022 Spring Box is the wooden art block with the reminder to “live simply”. I appreciate the pretty gray and white plaid design on that art block. The small white lavender scented candle came from Scotland.
Finishing this vignette is the pedestal base, holding a fat white pillar candle and a green wreath.

Wood & Metal Wall Shelf
This cute wall shelf is the perfect piece to add to a wall grouping, or to use alone in the living room, kitchen, bedroom or bathroom. The light natural wood shelf and black metal details create a distinctive look that works anywhere.
I chose to add the shelf to a grouping on my living room wall. It looks amazing with the large wall clock and a framed collection of photos and art work.
I can easily change the décor on this shelf with the seasons.

Summer Picnics
Summer is the season for eating outside, picnic style. The blue and white woven rug makes a wonderful covering for the picnic table. Or use it as a rug at the front door or as a casual throw over a chair.
I paired the rug with the wood caddy on the backyard picnic table for a simple summer meal. While the caddy works well for silverware and napkins, it’s also a wonderful utility caddy for art supplies or office pens and pencils. Use it in creative or practical ways in any room in the house.

Top Shelf Vignette
All of the new Easter goodies and several from the 2022 Spring Box landed on a top shelf in my dining room. Confession: my “dining room” is actually the room I decorate the most, rather than eat in. It’s situated in the center of my 120+ year old house and I walk through it multiple times a day. Years ago, Greg removed the wall and French doors separating the living room and dining room, creating a large space full of light from the huge windows. I love the flow in these rooms and the natural light.
Look what came together to form this charming vignette.
From the 2022 Spring Box
The wooden pedestal with the bird cage is so versatile. I’m using them together here, with a fat light pink candle and spring candle ring inside. However, you can use the pieces separately too, as a stand to hold anything from cupcakes to collectibles, and as a metal cloche to cover a flower arrangement or a trio of candles.
The adorable blue ceramic birds add a whimsical touch to any vignette. I love birds and own five…so far…sets of ceramic or metal birds. They grace so many of my vignettes, year around. I love this pair of blue birds. And the strand of blue beads is one of two from the Spring Box. The other strand is part of another Easter display.
From the 2022 Easter Box
All of the items from the Easter box are grouped together here.
The long wooden tray with black metal handles forms the foundation for the sweet ceramic bunny holding the pale pink egg, the wooden whitewashed egg with the delicate floral design and the two sided art card in the clip frame. That handy clip frame comes from the Spring 2021 Box. I love it for holding the art cards. On the other side of the Easter card is a collection of colorful eggs. When Easter is over, I’ll go back to the spring art card.
Beneath the pedestal and cage is the pillow cover from the Easter Box. With its blue and white striped pattern, I chose to use it as a runner in this display. I’ll pop a lumbar pillow in it for summer. The cute…and inexpensive…fabric carrots came from Hobby Lobby. You’ll see two more in another vignette.
And hanging on the wall above this fresh vignette is the wooden BUNNY TRAIL sign.
I love how this vignette turned out. It makes me smile every time I walk by it.

Dining Room Table Vignette
On the table I never eat at, rests another grouping from the the Spring 2022 Box with a few of my own décor pieces. I love how I can create something new from what I already own, and the items from Decocrated.
This simple grouping features the glass vase with jute details and the faux lamb’s ear stems, from the 2022 Spring Box, on one end. Accompanying it are items from my collection: a light green votive holder and a pale pink bowl filled with speckled spring eggs.
On the other end, the white wire and metal cloche holds more speckled eggs. And the ceramic bunny and candy dish were made by Greg’s mother in 1961. I’m ever so careful with these vintage handmade items. However, I don’t want to keep them bubble wrapped in a box, never seen or enjoyed. They remind me of my mother-in-law, who passed away in 1999.
The pieces rest on the wooden table runner, from the Decocrated 2021 Spring Box. That runner is my all time favorite item. I use it to hold vignettes and for photo shoots for brands that I work with. I love it so much.
And beneath all is the new fabric table runner from this year’s Spring Box. I love how neutral the checked print is. I can use this runner year around.
Decocrated Spring and Easter 2022 – dining table top
Metal Wall Hooks
This black metal wall hook arrived in the 2022 Spring Box. After careful consideration for its location, I settled on the old wooden door in the dining room. Yes, the 120+ year old solid oak door has a crack in it. For me, that’s part of its charm.
The hooks currently hold a vintage Easter egg that came from Greg’s mother, spring wreaths and two more of the fun fabric carrots.
Beneath the hooks sits a short bookcase, holding more spring vignettes. The wooden ladder, perpetual calendar and candle holders are all from Decocrated. The white frame holds a photo of my youngest grandchild, Finley Grace, and art work created by her. And the little white rabbit comes from Hobby Lobby.

Refreshed Hot Tea Bar
Although no items from the Decocrated Spring and Easter 2022 Boxes are here, I refreshed the hot tea bar. Other Decocrated items landed here though.
The wooden bee cutout sets the theme for this cute redo in the kitchen. I chose a yellow, gold and white color theme for spring/summer. The sled shelf stays up all year with the items on it changing with the seasons. And the tiered tray is perfect for my ceramic teapot, cups and more seasonal décor.
Other decorative items are from Hobby Lobby and Michael’s while the adorable gold snail was a gift from my daughter Adriel and granddaughter Finley. Adriel purchased it from Target.

As the year winds down, I am thoroughly enjoying my favorite time of year. And I love for my home to reflect the joy that I feel with cozy, eclectic décor. I also love to mix things up and try new things, which is one of the reasons I love the Decocrated Subscription boxes so much. They inspire me and sometimes challenge me, in a good way, to think differently about my home and how I decorate it.
The Decocrated Winter Box, on sale now, truly set me on a path of creating some very different vignettes and displays this season.
Check out Decocrated’s Winter Woodland theme and how it’s showing up in my home.
Decocrated Winter Box 2021
If you’ve never heard of Decocrated Curated Home, check out my initial review HERE. This subscription box company specializes in curating home decor that mixes brilliantly with what you already own and use. The boxes arrive to your front door four times a year, in time for each new season.
Plus Decocrated members have access to the online Decoshop and add-on boxes that come out around holidays such as Halloween, Christmas, Easter and 4th of July.
The Winter Box 2021 features whimsical woodland themed pieces in light wood tones, metal accents, evergreen textures and bold patterns. Although some of the décor items are seasonal, others may be used throughout the year, which I love.
Many of my Decocrated pieces remain in my home year around. They just move to new places and form fresh vignettes. Take a look at the unboxed items from the winter box below…and then see where they landed in my vignettes.
Decocrated’s Winter Woodland unboxed.
Cozy Corner
The winter box includes TWO pillow covers. Many decocrators requested that boxes include not one but two pillow covers. Decocrated listens! These pillows covers fit a standard size square pillow and they are reversible.
One side features an evergreen print in classic green and white. The other side offers a modern and bold black and white plaid. I adore black and white. These pillows will move around my house all year.
I created a cozy corner on the sofa that includes the green woven throw I received in my first Decocrated box, Winter 2019.
Decocrated’s Winter Woodland – TWO reversible pillow covers
Dining Room Shelves
The rest of the Winter 2021 Box landed in my dining room…that is really a decorated room that I walk through daily. I never eat in the dining room!
I have a tall set of shelves in this room that I change with the seasons.
Top Two Shelves
It’s ALL Decocrated on the top shelf. From the Winter 2021 Box:
the beautiful wreath that is perfect for a door, a wall or over a mantle
the double sided art card that says Happy Holidays on one side and Baby It’s Cold Outside on the other
the wood and metal tray that can hold any sort of collection imaginable
The other pieces are the wooden candle holders and colored beads from the Fall 2021 Box, the wooden stack of books and clip frame from Spring 2021 Box, the perpetual calendar from Winter 2020 Box and the trio of ceramic trees from the Winter 2019 Box.
The second shelf houses the vintage nativity set made by Greg’s mother about 70 years ago. I treasure this set. And although it would absolutely break my heart if a piece broke, I can’t bear to keep it packed away out of sight. It’s beautiful and precious and an important component of my holiday décor.
Decocrated’s Winter Woodland – top shelves
Bottom Two Shelves
Lots of Decocrated items adorn the bottom two shelves. The beautiful white and light wood evergreen cut-out art can lean against the wall, as I have done, or hang on one. It’s perfect with the grouping of whimsical woodland animals in light wood tones. The set includes a polar bear, fox and squirrel. All are from the Winter 2021 Box. I found the polar bear candle last year at Big Lots.
The wooden village pieces came in the Winter 2020 Box. I love them grouped together in the wood and wire box shelf that Greg made for me. The star ornament adds the finishing touch.
And on the bottom shelf the wooden snowflake arrived in the Winter 2020 Box while the woven basket came in the Fall 2020 one. I bought the trees table art and the JOY sign at Hobby Lobby last year. As you might guess, I LOVE trees!
Decocrated’s Winter Woodland – bottom shelves
A Simplified Christmas
I felt inspired this year to simplify my holiday decorating a bit. For the last three years, rather than purchasing a cut Christmas tree, I’ve used the living Norfolk Pine that I’ve had for many years. It’s big enough to serve as a Christmas tree during the holidays.
I tried something different this year. I grouped the Norfolk Pine and my young Ficus Tree with several other plants…and draped them all with twinkling white lights. Okay, there’s one little fake pine tree in the bunch too! However, I love the way this grouping looks, so much so that I have not added any ornaments…yet.
About half of my decorations remain packed in their boxes. I like the simplified look and honestly, I’m in a very busy season of my life right now. Putting less out means putting less up later! Photo at the end of post.
I also love the vignette atop a vintage dresser that now resides in my living room. Christmas décor doesn’t have to be red, green and white. This vignette features items in black, dark wood tones and natural colors and it draws my eyes over and over. The wood and metal tray comes from the Decocrated Winter 2019 Box, the clock from Summer 2021 and the Crescent Moon mirror from the Fall 2021 Box.
Are you in the holiday mood? Does your house feature more Christmas décor or more winter items?

As September draws to a close, I spent the day adding spooky touches to my fall decor. New this season, treats for Halloween from Decocrated. This add-on box for 2021 contains the right blend of spooky vibes and festive fun.
Take a peek at the pieces inside the new Decocrated Halloween Box and see how I switched things up a bit for the upcoming holiday.

This add-on box celebrates Halloween with hauntingly sweet decor in a festive orange, black and white palette. The Deco Creator for this box is Adriana Cullen, of AC Craftiness.
The collection is pictured below. See where these pieces landed.

Pillow Talk
The lumbar pillow cover for Halloween 2021 features cobwebs on a black background, on one side, with orange tweed on the flip side. After Halloween, this pillow can remain as a fall pillow, turned to the orange side.
I paired the spooky pillow with the Farm Fresh Pumpkins one I already owned. And I placed both behind a little vignette set up on the wood and tin tray from the very first Decocrated box I received in winter 2019.
On the tray: the wooden candle holders from the fall 2021 box plus fall themed items and a HOME sign from my own collection.

Dining Room Shelves
Although already decorated for fall, I tweaked these shelves in the dining room, adding Halloween pieces.
On the top shelf, the ladder and linen from the fall 2021 box remain, along with the wooden lantern from the Christmas 2020 box and the flocked pumpkins from fall 2020. I added the BOO tabletop print and the fun wooden bottle cutouts, all from last year’s Decocrated Halloween box.
The second shelf holds black and white stacked pumpkins, a tabletop sign and a simple black vase with orange beads, on one end. At the other end is my rustic wire box holding the black metal clock from summer 2021, an orange candle and the wooden plaque from last year’s fall crate.
And finally, the third shelf is home to my own decor pieces plus the dark green metal pumpkin and colorful wooden beads from the fall 2021 box. The framed art features postcards I bought while on my Italy trip, in 2017.

Signs of the Season
The crescent moon wall art and the metal plaque both ended up on the covered front porch, ready to welcome visitors.
Bats and stars adorn the Trick or Treat moon sign, while “Enter if you Dare” gives a playful warning on the metal sign. After the holiday, it’s easy to remove both of these signs and return the front porch to fall, until after Thanksgiving.

Table Vignette
The rest of the new Halloween items gathered on the dining room table on top of the cloth runner from fall 2020 and the wooden runner from spring 2021.
The crate, filled with black and white pumpkins, comes from the fall 2020 box. I swapped out the wooden signs, moving the Harvest Moon one to the crate for Halloween. The spiderwebs towel is from this fall’s box.
On the other end rests the clip frame, holding the cat silhouette with the words “Trick or Treat”. The black metal “haunted house” is big enough to hold a candle inside. Use an LED candle or a small tea votive in a heat safe container. And the cute ceramic owl bowl is perfect for holding succulents, a small candle or Halloween candies. Mine will soon hold individually wrapped dark chocolates!

Bonus Photos
Although they don’t feature items from the Halloween 2021 box, these areas contain pieces from previous Decocrated boxes. Those items really do mix and match well with other Decocrated pieces and your own decorations.
Hot Tea Station
I set up my hot tea station for fall. Decocrated pieces include the sleigh shelf on the wall, the perpetual calendar and the tiered tray. This station, set up last winter for hot cocoa, remained in place all year and I enjoyed it so much. I simply change the decor with the seasons.
Treats for Halloween from Decocrated – tea station
Entry Table
The little entry table switched to a black and white Halloween theme. On the table top, the black metal candle ring from fall 2020 holds white tapers. The wreath with black berries can hang on the wall but I love the way it looks with the candle ring.
And the black and white pillow cover on the bottom shelf is from last Halloween’s box. I bought the cute Hocus Pocus sign last Halloween.

Do you know what time it is? It’s time for summer with Decocrated!
In spite of May’s cool, rainy days I know summer is almost here. I know because my Decocrated Summer Box arrived, in a cheery, bright yellow carton. It provided the inspiration I needed to bring summer vibes into my home.
May brought lots of cool spring weather AND days full of exciting opportunities for me, as a blogger. I’ve never experienced such a busy May. It was fun to set aside a day to unpack my Decocrated box and go into puttering mode.
Puttering is spending time in a relaxed way doing small tasks. I excel at puttering around. And in one afternoon I reset my home, from spring to summer.
It’s still raining today. However, inside my house, summer is here!

As summer arrives, after the strangest 14 months in recent history, we can bee-lieve it’s going to “bee” sensational! The Decocrated Summer Box celebrates with warm yellows and cool blues that bring the summer vibes.
This sweet box combines bees and hints of lemon, cherry woods, black metals, handwoven textiles and bright patterns. Kim Nevo is summer’s Deco Creator.
Check out this short unboxing video…and then let’s decorate!
Bringing Summer Into the House
I’ve enjoyed the Decocrated boxes for almost two years. What I love about this home decor company are these two things:
One, all the pieces work with each other, with items from previous boxes (with the exception of a few very specific holiday pieces) and with my own decorating style and decor items.
And two, receiving the new pieces challenges me to create something different, something fresh. I love such challenges. If I do what I’ve always done, I get what I’ve always had. Decocrated pushes me to try new things, decorate with pieces in interesting ways and “go beyond”…which is what I’m all about. Getting creative ramps up the decorating fun.
Here’s where the summer box pieces found a home.
Summer Lumbar Pillow Cover
Most Decocrated boxes contain a seasonal pillow cover. What a simple way to freshen a corner of the room, changing out pillow covers.
The fun bee and lemon print on the lumbar pillow cover shifts the mood in my cozy corner on the sofa. Paired with last summer’s yellow pillow cover, it brings the spirit of the outdoors into the living room. The wooden and metal tray, from winter 2019 , holds gardening books and a miniature watering can.
It’s Time for Summer with Decocrated – pillows
Wall Ledge
This ledge is perfect for holding small keepsakes, bathroom toiletries or a seasonal vignette.
I really needed something to hold my wee treasures from Scotland. My bedroom is intentionally evolving into an extremely supportive space that contains messages and symbols that carry significance for me.
Mounted beneath my tapestry from Thirlestane Castle, in the Scottish Borders, this shelf is the ideal size for an assortment of favorite items from that beautiful country.
It’s Time for Summer with Decocrated – wall ledge
Wooden Bee
Designed to hang on the wall, layer up with other items, or prop against anything…this bee can literally flit around the house and fit in anywhere.
For now, my bee is nestled inside my rustic wire and wood box, on a shelf in the dining room. Here in this box, the cutout reminds me of a bee resting on a screen door. How summer time is that?!
It’s Time for Summer with Decocrated – wooden bee
Double Sided Art Print
The double sided art print features a bee on one side and a quote on the other. It’s perfectly presented on the clip frame that arrived in the spring box. On a whim, I can flip the art print over to the “I love you like bees love honey” side.
The perpetual calendar is from the winter box. I happened upon the JUST BEE sign at Hobby Lobby. It’s perfect for this little grouping in the dining room bookcase. After I took a set of photos, I decided to add a yellow and white checked linen. It gives the shelf a pop of color, with all the wood elements.

Table Clock, Wooden Arch and Boho Basket
The vignettes on the small bookcase are my favorites this season.
I love the black metal table clock. Hanging on a faux leather strap, the clock brings to mind a large pocket watch. It looks wonderful grouped with the wooden arch with black accent pieces and the black metal candle holder from spring 2020. This versatile clock will show up in many places in my house, in the upcoming months.
The woven basket from fall 2020 balances out the top shelf. I’ve found myself drawn to muted neutrals lately. I’ll use the black and grey fringed runner beneath the vignette year around.
On the second shelf, the new boho basket is made from natural materials with a dark blue accent edge. I tipped it on its side and layered in a rolled Decocrated wrap and some linens. On the other side of the shelf, those black metal lanterns from last year’s Halloween box still bring me joy. I dropped a couple of tea lights into them. They are two of my favorite Decocrated items.

I don’t know about you, but with the extreme winter weather we just experienced, I’m ready for spring! The actual change of seasons doesn’t happen for almost a month. However, with the arrival of my Decocrated Spring Box, I made the switch indoors.
I love spring. It’s a time of fresh beginnings and renewal after a long winter sleep. My garden begins to stir and the trees bud. Such subtle changes signal that it’s time to freshen up my home decor as well.
I’m happy to spring into renewal with Decocrated and create fresh vignettes. See what I’ve done so far.
Decocrated Spring 2021 Box
After a winter overshadowed by the continuing pandemic and record cold temperatures, it felt so refreshing to reset my home decor this week. As if conspiring with me, warm sunshine filtered through the blinds in my big windows, making the day seem warmer than it actually was.
What a great time shaking off the winter blues as I played with the new spring pieces from this amazing subscription box.
If you’ve never heard of Decocrated Curated Home, check out my initial review HERE. This subscription box company specializes in curating home decor that mixes brilliantly with what you already own and use. The boxes arrive to your front door four times a year, in time for each new season.
The spring 2021 box features wildflowers and sentimental pieces that stir memories of springs past. The colors are soft and finishes included white washed wood and cherry wood.
This season’s featured artist is Kim Nevo, who hails from Miami, Florida. Kim’s travels inspire her art.

Creating Fresh Vignettes
I focused on refreshing five areas in my home, creating spring vignettes. I’m still working on a couple of new areas that I’ll share later.
Check out how I used my new spring 2021 pieces.
Cozy Corner
In one corner of my vintage sofa, I’ve created a cozy spot for reading and sipping on a cup of hot tea, no matter what the season. Honestly, I’m that person who covers up with a blanket, with the air conditioning running!
In this area, what’s new for the season is the spring floral lumbar pillow. I love the vintage looking design featuring flowers, herbs and insects. The pillowcase reverses to a soft robin egg blue side.
I paired the new pillowcase with the summer case, with features a sunny yellow design on one side and a tweedy finish on the other. I love the tweed with the spring design. The soft lightweight green throw is from the winter 2019 box. It’s perfect for all seasons.
The metal and wood tray arrived the winter 2019 box. I use that practical, pretty tray year around. Keeping with the garden theme, I plopped a couple of gardening books on the tray and topped them with a cute miniature metal watering can that my grandkids gifted to me.
Spring into renewal with Deocrated – cozy corner
Tall Dining Room Bookcase
The top two shelves of the wooden bookcase in the dining room received make overs as well.
The top shelf retained the wooden lantern from the Decocrated Christmas box and the woven basket and “Our Happy Place” tabletop sign from the fall box. New are the spring botanical prints hanging on the wall. I love the simplicity and beauty of the framed prints. Aren’t they perfect?
Although there are no Decocrated pieces on the second shelf, the decor serves to show how easy it is to mix and match the sub box pieces with items I already own. That darling print in the white frame is actually a birthday card I received this year from Greg’s cousin. I love it…and her thoughtfulness.

Dining Room Table
My favorite place to create vignettes, the small round dining table gets a completely new vignette, thanks to the Decocrated spring 2021 box.
I absolutely adore the WOODEN table runner! What a unique and fun decor piece. It’s sturdy, holding an assortment of items on the softly patterned surface.
Left Side of Wooden Table Runner
On the left is a clip frame, holding the postcard sized art print from the spring 2021 box. The print reverses to a soft pink print. I’m so excited about the clip frame! It’s perfect for all the art prints I’ve received in the last year+ from Decocrated.
Two of the four wooden village pieces from winter 2020 complete this end of the runner.
Spring into renewal with Decocrated – clip frame and postcard art
Right Side
On the right is the new spring planter. Made from metal with a wooden stand, it’s such a wonderful container to tuck a living plant into or to hold an artificial arrangement. I left my variegated ivy in a plastic flower pot and just dropped it into the planter.
The stack of wooden books, tied with beaded twine, inspires with the words “collect beautiful moments”. I almost always use a stack of actual books when creating vignettes. Decocrated included this wonderful set in the spring box.

Hot Tea Bar and Small Bookcase
Although these next two areas do not contain pieces from the spring 2021 box, the vignettes are full of previous items from Decocrated.
I continue to enjoy the hot tea bar. Every afternoon and most mornings, year around, I enjoy a cup of hot herbal tea. I love the convenience and fun of maintaining a hot tea bar. During the cold winter months I add hot chocolate as well.
I packed away the winter decor and introduced spring to the tea bar with mostly blue and green pieces. The pink, light blue and yellow ceramic containers hold tea bags and the last of my Four Sigmatic hot cocoa.
The tall ceramic trees arrived in the winter 2019 box while the remaining two village pieces and the wooden perpetual calendar came in the winter 2020 box.
Spring into renewal with Decocrated – hot tea bar
Small Bookcase
And the small bookcase in the space between dining room and living room houses a variety of pieces, each from a different season!
Framed wall print is a winter 2020 item. The tabletop print “there may be no thing greater than a life well loved” arrived winter 2019. Next to it, the faux succulents came in the summer 2020 box while the black metal lantern is from last spring. And the pair of black lanterns are actually Halloween 2020 pieces.
I truly do enjoy mixing and matching the Decocrated items with what I have on hand. In fact, everything I used for this spring arrived via Decocrated boxes or I already owned it. It’s so fun to play with the pieces and see what I have that combine to create vignettes that tell my stories.

What a wonderful time of year! I love the holiday season that begins, for me, with the beginning of fall and concludes after my January 9 birthday. From cool, crisp weather to seasonal décor to candlelight and festivities, I love it all.
Come take a tour of my holiday decorations, this Christmas wonderland with Decocrated featuring pieces from a year of subscription boxes from this fun company. This is one of my favorite things about Decocrated. The pieces from the spring box work for fall and Christmas. And last winter’s box meshes perfectly with this winter’s items. Two items from the Halloween box are on display in one of my Christmas vignettes.
In my opinion, that brings even more value to the boxes. Most of the Decocrated items remain in use in a variety of ways throughout the year.
Christmas Wonderland with Decocrated
I received the Decocrated winter box right after Halloween. It was fun to begin decorating with items that can go up before and remain up after the holidays. I liked that transition.
When the Christmas box arrived, decorating for the holidays began in earnest. Check out the fun Christmas box items, in the following vignettes. I’ll also point out items from previous boxes so you can see how wonderfully the pieces work together.
Christmas Hot Cocoa Bar
I’ve always wanted to create a hot cocoa bar. Decocrated inspired me to do so this year with their fun pieces. The two tiered tray is from the summer 2020 box. It holds a cute gingerbread set I’ve owned for years and on the bottom shelf, my teapot, a couple of red and black mugs and a hot chocolate sign. The sled shelf is from the winter 2020 box. It’s the perfect size for my stacking snowman set, a wooden tree, the sweet travel inspired art and a yummy scented candle. And the piece that started this cocoa bar, the sign post, is from the Christmas 2020 box.
In the black wire shelf, containers of loose leaf herbs stand ready for cups of fragrant hot tea. Tea bags rest in the round black and red cannister while healthy hot cocoa mixes and chai latte packets, all from Four Sigmatic, provide the “cocoa” in in this cocoa bar. I’ve enjoyed this festive yet practical set up so much. The sled shelf has a permanent place here in my kitchen where herbs and tea bags will always offer refreshment.

Dining Room Vignettes
As I’ve stated before, my dining room more properly is my vignette and plant room. I never eat at the little round dining table! Instead, the room changes with the seasons. Currently it features a variety of Christmas décor and festive vignettes.
Snowman Village
I broke up my snowman collection this year, grouping them around the house. On this small table, nestled against the open door into my creative studio, a cheery group of snowmen share space with a couple of Decocrated Christmas pieces.
The Most Wonderful Time of the Year framed print (which reverses to a Joy to the World print) and the wooden red truck sign, both from the Christmas box, add to the fun in this snowman gathering.
Christmas Wonderland with Decocrated – snowmen
More Snowmen
On the dining room table, more snowmen cluster around the black candle ring from the fall 2020 box. It looks so Christmasy with its ring of dark red berries. I’ll definitely use the candle ring for each season by changing what surrounds the base and the color of the candle tapers. The framed snowman print is a drawing my late brother-in-law drew when he was a boy. I love using his art in my home. As an adult Ray became an amazing artist. Sadly, cancer cut his life short. I think he must smile that I framed his snowman.
Christmas Wonderland with Decocrated – candle ring from the fall box
Christmas Lanterns
After I unpacked the Christmas box, I rearranged this top shelf on my tall bookcase so that the sled shelf could move to the kitchen. The adorable winter village from the winter 2020 box remains, as do the wooden perpetual calendar and the “hello winter” mug. And last winter’s double sided framed art print moved to hang on the wall.
New to this collection is the wooden lantern. I love how versatile this piece is. It looks Christmasy with a silver poinsettia bow. However, after Christmas I’ll replace it with a winter-themed bow. As each season arrives, this lantern will get a new bow or a floral arrangement to freshen it up.
The second shelf remains as is, with its winter theme. The winter village framed print and the large greenery print are from the winter 2020 box while the ceramic trees that I love so much arrived in the winter 2019 box.
Christmas Wonderland with Decocrated – winter village and wooden lantern
Black and White Christmas Vignette
And my new this year black and white Christmas vignette continues to bring me joy. The wooden crate on the top shelf came with the fall 2020 box. I filled it with pumpkins for fall and Halloween. It now holds black and white cloth ornaments. The black lantern on the second shelf, another extremely versatile piece, arrived in the spring 2020 box. And the black lanterns on the bottom shelf are Halloween box pieces. I’ll use them year around.

Living Room Vignettes
Moving on to the living room, the following vignettes feature Decocrated pieces as well, from boxes throughout the year.
Joy
I created this cozy spot on my vintage sofa with these pieces from Decocrated. That metal and wooden tray, that I use ALL the time, is from the winter 2019 box. Working with brands and products, many of my photos feature this tray. The snuggly throw is from last winter’s box also while the tree pillow is from winter 2020. I love the JOY pillow from the Christmas box. It’s reversible. The other side offers a greenery design that matches the large framed print from the winter 2020 box, with the addition of bright red berries. Flipping the pillow to that side, this cozy corner can remain in place until spring.
Christmas Wonderland with Decocrated – JOY pillow
Entry Table
On the bottom shelf of my chippy entry table, the gold planter from summer 2020 gets dressed for Christmas with sprays of greenery and berries. It looks classy and festive. The ceramic Santa candle holder adds playfulness.
The top of the shelf features an eclectic group of Santas sharing space with a wire cloche, a bowl of favorite ornaments and a reminder for the season.
Christmas Wonderland with Decocrated – entry table
Explosion of Festivity
I call this next vignette an “explosion of festivity”! I enjoyed creating a burst of color with the gold canister set from the spring 2020 box. If you had asked me last year if I’d ever decorate with gold pieces, I would have said “NO…I’m a silver person.”
I love that Decocrated gently pushes me beyond my comfort zone by introducing new pieces into my décor. I appreciate this canister set and the gold planter. Both remain in use every month. The mirror reflecting all that joyful festivity is from summer 2020.
An explosion of festivity! The exuberance in this vignette literally makes me laugh.
Bedroom Reading Nook
One more vignette to share, this one from my bedroom. I have many, many more Christmas vignettes, displayed in every room in my house. These featured in this post provide a sampling of how I use Decocrated pieces, from all of the seasonal boxes, to create a cozy, merry and fun Christmas atmosphere in my home.
This is my reading nook, near the windows in my bedroom. The blue and white striped rug, from the summer 2020 box cozies up the glider while the blue pillow, from the same box, adds comfort. My daughter gifted me the warm, snuggly blanket.
That’s a vintage metal tray beneath the cheerful red and white checkered cloth. While I’m reading a good book that tray holds a cup of hot tea and a healthy snack.

As the days grow shorter and the chilly evenings longer, I’m reminded 2020 is winding down. How quickly the year passed. Our trees in Missouri released their last leaves and give testament to the approach of winter.
During the strangest 12 months in my lifetime, I’ve marked the seasons partly through the arrival of my Decocrated subscription boxes! These boxes bring me new seasonal items to decorate with. Truly, Decocrated provides much needed fun and diversion as I incorporate the pieces into my home.
Check out my way to welcoming winter with Decocrated.
The Decocrated Winter Box
The Decocrated subscription boxes ship out before the beginning of each season, offering fresh décor pieces to incorporate into any decorating style. Each box contains seven to eight curated items appropriate for the season.
I find it easy to mix my own pieces in with the Decocrated items. And each season’s décor pieces work well with past and future boxes. Additionally, the company offers add-on boxes for specific holidays. Check out how I decorated with my Halloween add on HERE. My Christmas add on arrived today. I’ll share another post soon featuring Christmas!
The winter box décor is suitable for that time in between fall and Christmas. And it’s perfect for after Christmas as well, when all the excitement of the holidays is over and I want to enjoy my cozy home until it’s time for a spring reset.
The winter box featured artists are Kat Fonte and Cris Menedez. This season tells the story of charming winter villages, falling snow and forest greenery. Key colors are green and blue with wood accents. The pieces have a playful, cozy feel that work well in any home, no matter the decorating style.
Check out the unboxing below…and then see how I incorporated the pieces into my décor.
Welcoming Winter with Decocrated
People are decorating for Christmas earlier than ever this year. Due to COVID people are staying home more than they typically do. Bringing out the Christmas décor invites joy and beauty into the home at a time when it’s desperately needed and appreciated.
While I usually begin Christmas decorating after Thanksgiving, this year I began the shift this week. The winter pieces from Decocrated create a nice transition into the holidays as I slowly create Christmas vignettes. I’m enjoying mixing things up and departing from my usual placement of objects.

Dining Room Shelves
With the exception of one spot in the living room, all of the Decocrated winter pieces ended up in the dining room, on the tall wooden shelves.
Top Shelves
On the top shelf, the sled shelf becomes a tabletop one for now. I’ll move this cute shelf into the kitchen soon, as part of a hot cocoa station. For now this wood and metal shelf holds a framed print from last year’s Decocrated winter box, wooden snowmen, a winter mug, bottle brush trees and this season’s perpetual calendar. I’ve always wanted one of those calendars! This comes with all the pieces to create the month, day of the week and date
Greg made the wood and metal wire shelf last year and I’ve used it every season. I absolutely love how the winter box village houses look tucked into the shelf. The star ornament hanging above is the perfect addition. And I accidently bought that ornament! I picked it up to look behind it for another ornament and then carried it to the check out without realizing I still held it. I didn’t want to get out of line to take it back, so I bought it. I’m so glad I did.
Welcoming Winter with Decocrated – sled shelf
The second shelf is home to the framed print for this season. I love that the green leaves work well for the holidays and also for spring and summer. It can hang on the wall, stand as a background piece or work as a tray. The trio of ceramic trees are from the winter 2019 box. I love trees. These stayed out all year. I moved them around the house as they joined different vignettes.
I popped the small winter 2020 art print into a glass and wood frame. The print and the frame are double sided so I can simply turn the frame around to display the Winter Wonderland side. The cute candle covered with polar bears came from Big Lots as did the winter mug in the sled shelf, and complements this winter vignette beautifully.
Lower Shelves
The one piece from the winter box that I felt unsure about, the boho snowflake, found a home on the third shelf. This is one of the things I love about Decocrated. I receive items I might not typically buy. Styling them becomes a fun challenge. And I’ve yet to dislike any piece once I’ve found a place for it.
I began by pairing the wooden snowflake with the woven basket from the fall box. As soon as I laid the basket on its side, my creativity kicked in. I added greenery and a white candle and boom…I loved the snowflake. On the other side of the shelf I completed this vignette by adding a group of wooden and metal trees and the word JOY. This grouping can stay through Christmas, with its reds and greens. I love it.
And the bottom shelf holds four pillar candles and the OUR HAPPY PLACE sign from the fall box. I’ll add snowmen and other Christmas items to this shelf soon.
Welcoming Winter with Decocrated – the boho snowflake
The Winter Pillow
Decocrated always includes fabric pieces in each box. This season, I received a lumbar pillow cover. The design is inspired by an evergreen forest. I created a cozy area on my living room sofa using the pillow and the serving tray and snuggly throw from last winter’s box.
The ceramic bird perches atop a couple of books and the candle holder features silvery snowflakes. The tray is perfect for holding a cup of hot tea and a snack. And, I must add, I’ve used that tray many, MANY times throughout the year.

Sneak Peek at Christmas
Want a sneak peek at what I’m doing for Christmas? As part of my 63 Curious Things for my 63rd Birthday (first post about that up Monday…I’ll update with a link as soon as it posts), I created a black and white Christmas vignette. It was so fun to pull together and of course I incorporated several items from past Decocrated boxes.
The wooden crate from the fall box now holds black and white fabric ornaments instead of pumpkins. My wooden snowman is counting down the days until Christmas. And I love those fabric covered cone trees.
Welcoming Winter with Decocrated – black and white Christmas
On the second shelf, the black lantern from the spring box holds a bright red candle resting within a pretty candle ring. The simple black, white and gold sign wishes all a Merry Christmas.
The bottom shelf features the black lanterns from the Halloween add on box. I knew I’d use those black lanterns throughout the year. They add illumination to the black JOY sign and the cute black and white stand up signs. I love the bottle brush trees scattered throughout the shelves. They provide additional color.
This bookcase will remain exactly as it is throughout the holidays.

In southwest Missouri, August is typically hot and humid, or what we call “muggy”. This year, the last half of the month offered cooler days that hinted at the impending arrival of fall. I welcomed those below average temps.
When my fall Decocrated box arrived, I determined to begin the switch to autumn decor…now! How exciting to open up that box to see what lies tucked within.
The theme for fall is “Fall back in love.” I love that! Most of us spent more time at home this year. With vacations canceled or changed and safety protocols in place at many attractions, it just makes sense to create an environment in our own homes, that supports us and brings us joy.
For this post, I’m adding a few words to the theme:
Fall back in love with your home with Decocrated.
The Decocrated Fall Box
The Decocrated subscription boxes ship out at the beginning of each season, offering fresh decor pieces to incorporate into any decorating style. Each box contains seven to eight curated items appropriate for the season.
I find it easy to mix my own pieces in with the Decocrated items. And each season’s decor pieces work well with the future boxes.
The fall collection builds around a palette of burnt orange, dusty teal, black and white. The decor in this box combines warm wood tones with black metal and cozy textiles.
This season’s featured artist is Emily Doliner. Emily is a designer and illustrator based in North Carolina. She loves pattern design and brings a sense of mischief and wonder to the fall box.
Before enjoying my new fall vignettes, take a peek at the unboxing!
The Entry Table and Vintage Wooden Chair
Here we go, my fresh fall vignettes.
Entry Table
The little chippy entry table, that I change up seasonally, received a complete makeover.
On the table top, a black and white buffalo plaid linen provides a fun foundation for the tiered tray from the Decocrated Summer Box. Let me just say that I love buffalo plaid. I began bringing it in for Christmas, in red and black, a couple of years ago. This fall it’s my fun core pattern. I’ve got big plans for this plaid for Halloween decor.
On the top tier of the tray rests a light teal pumpkin, that lights up, and a framed Y, for Yaya, that my grandchildren gifted me with this summer. The lower shelf holds an orange THANKS sign, a wonderfully scented spicy candle from the grandkids and a teal and black autumn mug. I tucked a few cinnamon sticks into the mug. A wooden black and white sign, with the word GATHER on it, completes this vignette.
The bottom shelf of the entry table holds the gold planter from the summer box, filled with artificial eucalyptus, and two gold canisters from the Decocrated Spring Box. Each canister holds a faux succulent plant.
Fall back in love with your home with Decocrated – entry table topFall back in love with your home with Decocrated – lower shelf
Vintage Wooden Chair
The vintage wooden chair next to the entry table provides another space for me to decorate. And trust me, I need all kinds of flat spaces for decor!
The little round seat perfectly holds a small vignette. The mirror from the summer box remains, with a little black and orange fall pillow hanging from one corner. An orange linen covers the seat. On top rests a teal ceramic bird while the black lantern from the spring box houses a stack of pumpkins.
Next to the chair, my grandfather’s old metal army trunk holds a stack of quilts and pillows, including the reversible pillows from the summer box, turned to the textured side, and an autumn pillow I bought for a dollar at a discount store.
Fall back in love with your home with Decocrated – chair vignette
Bookcase Shelf
The top shelf of the dining room bookcase received a complete makeover as well. A nubby textured striped rug, in warm fall colors, provides the foundation for this vignette.
The framed wooden print from the fall box certainly inspires cozy feelings. It makes me smile reading the words, as it perfectly captures fall. Resting in a stand, the print anchors one corner, while on the opposite corner, the woven basket, also from the fall box, balances out the display.
The basket is woven from water hyacinth, a natural material that gives each basket unique colors and textures. The hyacinth basket has a wonderfully earthy, slightly sweet scent that I love. I tucked a white linen with the word Thankful on it into the basket, then added a fall arrangement. A simple wreath with black berries goes on the wall.
Two black and white buffalo plaid cloth pumpkins rest next to the basket while the Our Happy Place wood and metal sign completes the vignette. I love how this mostly monochromatic display turned out!

Dining Room Table Vignette
As I’ve mentioned previously, I never eat at my little round dining room table. Rather, I decorate it seasonally. I consider it my “feature” display area. I walk through this room many times a day and I enjoy the vignettes that occupy that space.
Black Metal Candle Ring
From the fall box, a black and white table runner, adorned with leaves, sets the stage for the vignette.
On the left, rests a black metal candle ring from the fall box. Six burnt orange candles dance around that ring. (Tip: use double sided tape, wrapped around the candle base, to create a snug and secure fit.) I stepped out of my comfort zone, when I went looking for a garland to decorate the ring. You could easily leave it bare and the candle ring would still look cute. I decided to go with something very different…a felt garland in dusty blue gray, orange, white and yellow. I love it’s uniqueness and playfulness.
The small double sided print is from the fall box as well. The side shown features a recipe for pumpkin spice latte while the reverse side is perfect for Halloween with the words…Double, Double, Toil and Trouble. I love the little photo holder I found at Hobby Lobby. It echoes the theme for the season!
Adorable black candle ring with fun felt garland and print card.
Wooden Crate and Pumpkins
I love wooden crates and this one from the fall box offers plenty of room for all kinds of items. The crate comes with two wooden signs, “Autumn Harvest” in white and orange and “Harvest Moon” in black and white. I chose to use the Harvest Moon sign as it looks great with my black and white buffalo plaid.
In fact, I lined the crate with a black and white plaid linen and then filled the interior with soft mini pumpkins in dusty blue gray, burnt orange and white. Those little pumpkins match the felt garland around the candle ring.
In front of the crate rest the pumpkins from the fall box, in burnt orange and dusty teal. These pumpkins are so nicely done. Made of resin, the covering on the outside feels like velvet.
The little photo holder with the pumpkin spice latte print is nestled close to the wooden crate.
I’m already enjoying this vignette and indeed, all of the Decocrated inspired vignettes I created today. I have more fall decorating to do, on the front porch and on a few other surfaces and in containers. However, what a wonderful start to the season.

I’m having so much fun with the Decocrated subscription boxes! With the mix and match pieces from the seasonal boxes and my own decor I can create fresh and unique vignettes throughout the house.
With summer well underway, I decided to change things up again and create something new…something very new.
Check out how easy it is, creating personal vignettes with Decocrated!
Summer’s Golden Glow
The Decocrated subscription boxes ship out at the beginning of each season, offering fresh decor pieces to incorporate into any decorating style.
The summer collection is built around a palette of sunshine yellow and bright blue, with accent colors of cream, black and gold. The decor in this box combines light natural wood and gold finishes with homey textiles. Check out how I styled these pieces for summer vignettes.
The featured artists for summer are Kate Aurelia and Kasey Free. This duo met in college and combine their talents to create art inspired by nature and travels. They work with a mixture of techniques, from traditional paintings to collage to digital art.
Before receiving the spring Decocrated box, I rarely used gold decor in my home. I’m more naturally drawn toward silver tones. However, that’s what I love about Decocrated. They are nudging me out of my typical decorating rut and encouraging me to expand and create something new.
Both the spring and summer boxes included gold foundational pieces. How fun it’s been, creating with these items.
Creating personal vignettes with Decocrated – bonus display. I love these ceramic trees from the winter box! I’ve left them out all year. Table top sign from winter box as well and black lantern from spring.
Creating Personal Vignettes with Decocrated
Recently I noticed items for sale at Michael’s Craft Store…gold decor…that I don’t think I would have noticed prior to receiving Decocrated boxes. I circled around to those pieces several times, drawn to them. Feeling a strong a personal connection to the items, I bought them.
I’m excited to show you how I used those unique pieces with items from the spring and summer Decocrated boxes to create personal vignettes that tell my story.
Ready to see?
Kind is Gold
I relocated the mirror from the summer box to the vintage wooden chair near my armoire. The gold tray and canisters arrived with the spring box. And the yellow pillows with the reversible textured side are from summer.
I love this warm vignette, build around sunny yellows and gold. The little table top sign reads, “Kind is Gold”.
This cheerful grouping reminds me that summer is here and that kindness is, indeed, golden. The mirror in this personal vignette represents reflecting back to others that kindness and love.
Creating personal vignettes – kind is goldI love the way the mirror reflects the light.
Hello Succulents
The summer Decocrated box included a cute gray planter containing three faux succulents. Well, that inspired me to pick up several more. And these succulents never need to be watered!
I love this fun vignette that highlights my playful side.
The “hello sunshine” print is also from the summer box. The art print is a spring item. I also enjoy using stacked books as risers to create height. From my collection of books, I look for covers that are in my color palette.
Creating Personal Vignettes with Decocrated – playful shelf top grouping
Telling My Story with Decocrated
I used the dining room table to create a unique vignette, full of items that tell my story.
Gold Planter
The blue and white rug from the summer box creates the foundation to build upon. I added a gold place mat. The gold planter, another summer box item, anchors the left side. It’s filled with artificial eucalyptus in soft greens, grays and peach colors. The letter “C” with gold floral trim is for Cindy, of course. And the little blue flower pot filled with succulents brings a pop of color that ties in with the rug.
Creating personal vignettes with Decocrated – gold planter and C for Cindy
Tiered Tray
I filled the two tier tray from the summer box with items that have meaning to me.
On the bottom shelf are two gold canisters from spring, holding more fun faux succulents. A “dream” metal stand up sign in gold reminds me to keep pursuing my dreams and more than that, to make them a priority. And tucked into the corner is a blue and gold candle holder, because being light, shining my light, is always important to me.
On the top shelf a vintage looking gold crown represents my queen symbol from last year. Looking at it, I recall the question I was divinely asked in 2019, “Do you want to be the queen of your own kingdom or a pawn in someone else’s?” I choose to be the queen of my own kingdom.
The gold hand statue reminds me “open hand, open heart”. I am open to everything and attached to nothing. There’s a gold votive holder there, shining with candlelight. And finally, hanging from the tiered tray is a golden key, my symbol for this year. Curiosity is the key that is opening doors for me.

Inspiration from Decocrated
After enjoying three subscription boxes…so far…from Decocrated, I can genuinely say that this company inspires me. I’ve always loved decorating and creating vignettes. Decocrated provides beautiful pieces that increase my creativity. It’s so fun to see what I can bring together, to tell unique stories.
The vignette on the dining table is especially meaningful to me. It will remain in place until it’s time to decorate for fall!
